art lounge viscosi

The Art Lounge, a part of the entrance area in the new Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Department of Design & Art building, is used as a meeting place, a waiting area, and as an extended seating area of the cafeteria.

The printed carpet was made partly transparent to keep the original tracks of the floor visible. Coloured areas were filled in by hand to break the design rigour.

The nine-meter-long table can be lowered to lounge table height. Trapezoidal formed bases and handles at the back of the freestanding stools invite the user to arrange them freely in the area.
